About Us

Annette Sowell
Annette Sowell joined the Shriekfest team in 2006. Drawn to the fun & friendly atmosphere of the festival, she has been with them ever since, as a volunteer & judge of shorts & features. A long-time fan of Horror films, her favorites include monster movies, slashers & giallos. She has passion for all things audio and counts editing sound FX for film & DJing amongst her achievements.

Armando D. Munoz
Armando’s first short film “The Killer Krapper” had its Los Angeles premiere at Shriekfest, followed a few years later with the world premiere of his film “Mime After Midnight.” He has also had numerous qualifying feature screenplays. He performs as DJ Pervula at Shriekfest’s Opening Night Party, providing a horror-themed dance set in a multitude of monster costumes. Armando recently debuted his first horror novel titled “Hoarder.”

Todd Beeson
Todd came out to Los Angeles from his home town of Grand Haven, Michigan 23 years ago. He began his career working at Walt Disney Imagineering. While at Disney he worked on numerous theme park projects. Todd also loves to play golf.

Tim Curns
An avid horror enthusiast since his childhood days, Tim has assisted Denise with Shriekfest for the past several years. He counts “Creepshow” and “Let the Right One In” among his favorite horror films.

Kenny Selko
An L.A. native, Kenny Selko is a realtor, runner, photographer and identical twin. After screening his short film at Shriekfest, he became the festival’s official photographer. He will remain so until his passing.

Karina Wilson
Karina Wilson is a British writer and story consultant. She consults on movie and television projects for a broad cross-section of the industry, from independent writers and producers to major studio productions. Although she’s not at all scary in person, she has a deep and abiding love for the horror genre and has been involved in Shriekfest judging for more than a decade.

Christopher Gregson
Christopher Gregson was born and raised in a small town in Maine and moved to Los Angeles fifteen years ago to pursue his dream of making movies. He’s directed many shorts, the award winning web series “Dish it Out”, and often freelances as a director of photography, and editor. Collin Campbell
Colin has been ingesting Horror since his early teen years and is a fan of silly schlock horror the most! He’s originally from Drumheller, Alberta but now resides with his wife and son in beautiful Washington State.

Shane Douberly
Classically trained with a BFA in Illustration from the School of Visual Arts, Shane has blazed a variety of trails across the creative landscape. A renowned illustrator and painter, Shane’s interest in horror and science fiction is reflected in his graphic-novel work, his own filmmaking, and posters he’s created for fellow artists. As a founder of the award-winning animation studio Dripsblack, he’s built a reputation for innovative commercial work, designing motion graphics and visual campaigns for some of the world’s most prominent brands.

Tina Gilbertsen
I’m a happily married woman and have two daughters in college. I’m a Registered Nurse First Responder for The Disneyland Resort. In my spare time I enjoy photography and graphic art. I met Denise online when she was filming ‘I Saw The Light’ with Tom Hiddleston. We’ve been friends ever since. I was invited to come to Shriekfest and the following years my family and I have volunteered. I also help out with graphics throughout the year. I love being a part of the Shriekfest family and look forward to many more years of Shriekfest.

Alex Drummond
Alex Drummond’s first feature THE SHOWER (aka KILLER PARTY) had its World Premiere at Shriekfest. MONSTER JOCKS, a screenplay he co-wrote with Dave Samartin, was a Shriekfest Finalist. His favorite horror movies are HALLOWEEN, THE EXORCIST, and SHAUN OF THE DEAD.

Kingsley Paul Grant
Kingsley started with playing drums at age 11 and then played in various bands. He then moved on to songwriting and is now composing. Kingsley creates a style of music that you could call his own. He is influenced by 60’s,70’s, and 80’s Horror and Sci-Fi films and likes to create sounds that are not of this earth. He composed the music for the 2018 and 2019 Shriekfest Trailers.

Chauncey K. Robinson
Chauncey is a full time film/tv critic, journalist, writer, and host. She has a love for all things horror and dark fantasy. She specializes in dissecting and analyzing culture.
